Safety gear you hope never to use is exactly the kind that's easy to keep putting off. So consider this your nudge: our 2m x 2m E-Bike and E-Scooter Fire Blanket is now $150, down from $165.
It's a small saving on a small piece of equipment that does a big job. If you charge an e-bike or e-scooter indoors, and most people do, in a hallway, garage or spare room, this is one of the simplest, lowest-cost steps you can take to protect your home.
On sale now: $150 (was $165). Free shipping Australia wide on orders over $500. In any fire, get clear and call 000.
Why an e-bike blanket earns its place
When an e-bike or e-scooter battery fails, it doesn't behave like an ordinary fire. It burns hotter, gives off toxic gas, and can reignite after the flames look out, and it usually starts at the charger. A standard household fire blanket isn't built for that. This one is tested to the European EN 13501 fire safety standard, and it's made to smother the flames, contain the fire and slow it spreading to everything around it, buying you time to get clear and call 000.
It won't fully extinguish a battery already in thermal runaway, nothing draped over a pack will, but that containment is the whole point: it turns a fast-spreading room fire into a contained incident while help is on the way.
