Lithium-ion battery fires ignite fast and burn hot — this kit gives commercial and industrial sites two layers of defence. Knock a fire down early with our 4L EV fire extinguisher, and contain what you can't with our heavy-duty 5m x 5m high-silica blanket, rated to a 1600°C working temperature. Built for forklifts, small vehicles, and facilities where lithium-ion equipment is charged, operated, or stored.

What's included

4L EV Fire Extinguisher — a rapid first response formulated for lithium-ion battery fires, suited to workshops, charging areas, and fleet use. Complies with EN 3-7:2004 + A1:2007.

5m x 5m High Silica Fire Blanket — heavy-duty high-silica containment rated to 1600°C, built to smother and contain a battery fire and starve it of oxygen. Tested to EN 13501.

Product features

4L EV Fire Extinguisher

Engineered for the high-temperature, volatile nature of lithium-ion battery fires, our 4L extinguisher delivers a quick, efficient response in an emergency — a practical mid-size capacity for workshops, forklift charging areas, and fleet operations.

5m x 5m High Silica Fire Blanket (Heavy-Duty)

Our high-silica containment blanket is built for demanding commercial and industrial fire risks. High-silica fabric handles sustained exposure to extreme heat, rated to a 1600°C working temperature — our most heat-resistant blanket material. At 5m x 5m, it's suited to forklifts and small vehicles, and ideal for workshops, warehouses, and facilities where lithium-ion equipment is charged, operated, or stored. Tested to EN 13501.

Product FAQs

Frequently asked questions

What's in this kit?
A 4L EV fire extinguisher (complies with EN 3-7:2004 + A1:2007) paired with our heavy-duty 5m x 5m high-silica fire blanket (tested to EN 13501, rated to a 1600 degrees C working temperature, about 15kg). It's built for higher-risk commercial settings where maximum heat resistance matters, such as workshops and garages handling forklifts and small cars.
What makes this the heavy-duty version?
The blanket is high-silica construction rated to 1600 degrees C, our highest, versus the 1100 degrees C rating on the standard 5m x 5m fibreglass blanket. Choose this where maximum protection is the priority; if you don't need the top rating, the standard 5m x 5m kit is a lower-cost option.
Why have both an extinguisher and a blanket?
They do different jobs. The extinguisher lets you tackle a fire early, cooling the battery and interrupting thermal runaway. The blanket contains what you can't put out, smothering the flames and slowing the spread to nearby vehicles or structures while you wait for the fire brigade. Together they cover you from the first sign of trouble through to containment.
What size vehicle does the 5m x 5m blanket suit?
The 5m x 5m suits forklifts, small cars, mobility scooters and equipment in commercial environments, not a full-size passenger EV. For complete car coverage, choose one of our 8m x 6m car bundles, ask us if you're unsure.
Do the standards mean it's certified for Australia?
There is currently no Australian Standard specific to lithium-ion battery fires. The extinguisher complies with the European and international standard EN 3-7:2004 + A1:2007, and the blanket is tested to the European EN 13501 fire safety standard, both recognised, rigorous benchmarks.
How do I use each item in an emergency?
Extinguisher, follow the PASS method: Pull the pin, Aim at the base of the fire or the battery, Squeeze the handle, Sweep side to side, focusing on cooling the battery. Blanket, if it's safe, place it over the vehicle or item to smother the flames and contain the fire, then get clear. Only tackle a small fire in its early stages, and only if it's safe to do so.
Will it fully put the fire out, and should I still call 000?
Always call 000 immediately. This kit is a first response and containment tool, not a replacement for the fire brigade. A lithium-ion battery can stay hot and reignite hours later, so once you've done what you safely can, get clear and let the professionals handle it.
Is the kit reusable?
Treat both items as single-use emergency protection. Once the extinguisher has been discharged, even partially, replace it, and once the blanket has been used on a fire, replace it too. If either is damaged or you're unsure it's still fit for use, don't rely on it.
How do I store and maintain it?
Keep both items accessible and visible near where the vehicle or equipment is parked, charged or stored, the extinguisher on a bracket or shelf and the blanket in its bag. Give the extinguisher a monthly visual check (gauge in the green zone, pin and seal intact, no damage), inspect it annually, and inspect the blanket for damage. Both suit garage and workshop storage and normal temperature variation; avoid prolonged moisture or chemical contact.
What about warranty and shipping?
Both items carry a 12-month warranty. Because of the size and weight, shipping is calculated at checkout based on your location, and shipping is free Australia wide on orders over $500. As safety equipment, returns are subject to our standard return policy, contact us with any questions.
