EV Car Fire Safety Kit — 4L Extinguisher + 8m x 6m Blanket

Lithium-ion battery fires start fast and burn hot — this bundle gives you two layers of defence for your electric vehicle. Knock a fire down early with our 4L EV fire extinguisher, and contain what you can't with our 8m x 6m car fire blanket. Together they cover you from the first sign of trouble through to containment while you wait for emergency services.

Ideal for home EV charging, garages, workshops, and small commercial or fleet settings.

What's included

4L EV Fire Extinguisher — a rapid first response formulated for lithium-ion battery fires, well suited to EV cars, home charging stations, and light commercial use. Complies with EN 3-7:2004 + A1:2007.

8m x 6m EV Car Fire Blanket — contains and controls a fire caused by thermal runaway, starving it of oxygen and limiting spread. Tested to EN 13501, with a maximum working temperature of 1100°C.

Product features

4L EV Fire Extinguisher

Engineered for the high-temperature, volatile nature of lithium-ion battery fires, our 4L extinguisher delivers a quick, efficient response in an emergency. It's a practical mid-size capacity for EV cars, home charging stations, workshops, and fleet use.

8m x 6m EV Car Fire Blanket

Our fire containment blanket provides full coverage for a passenger EV. Engineered from high-temperature-resistant fibreglass, it creates an oxygen-starved environment that contains flames and reduces toxic smoke — a critical second line of defence given how easily lithium-ion fires reignite. Ideal for workshops, garages, and facilities where electric or hybrid vehicles are charged or stored.

Product FAQs

Frequently asked questions

What's in this kit?
Two layers of defence for your electric vehicle: a 4L EV fire extinguisher (complies with EN 3-7:2004 + A1:2007) for a rapid first response, and an 8m x 6m fibreglass car fire blanket (tested to EN 13501, 1100 degrees C working temperature) sized to fully cover a passenger EV. Ideal for home EV charging, garages, workshops and small commercial or fleet settings.
Why have both an extinguisher and a blanket?
They do different jobs. The extinguisher lets you tackle a fire early, cooling the battery and interrupting thermal runaway. The blanket contains what you can't put out, smothering the flames and slowing the spread to nearby vehicles or structures while you wait for the fire brigade. Together they cover you from the first sign of trouble through to containment.
Will the blanket cover my car?
Yes, the 8m x 6m blanket is made to fully cover a passenger electric or hybrid vehicle. For the heaviest-duty protection, a 1600 degrees C heavy-duty version is available, and smaller 5m x 5m blankets suit e-bikes, mobility scooters and equipment, ask us if you're unsure which fits.
Do the standards mean it's certified for Australia?
There is currently no Australian Standard specific to lithium-ion battery fires. The extinguisher complies with the European and international standard EN 3-7:2004 + A1:2007, and the blanket is tested to the European EN 13501 fire safety standard, both recognised, rigorous benchmarks.
How do I use each item in an emergency?
Extinguisher, follow the PASS method: Pull the pin, Aim at the base of the fire or the battery, Squeeze the handle, Sweep side to side, focusing on cooling the battery. Blanket, if it's safe, place it over the vehicle or item to smother the flames and contain the fire, then get clear. Only tackle a small fire in its early stages, and only if it's safe to do so. With the car blanket, plan for two people given its size and around 25kg weight.
Will it fully put the fire out, and should I still call 000?
Always call 000 immediately. This kit is a first response and containment tool, not a replacement for the fire brigade. A lithium-ion battery can stay hot and reignite hours later, so once you've done what you safely can, get clear and let the professionals handle it.
Is the kit reusable?
Treat both items as single-use emergency protection. Once the extinguisher has been discharged, even partially, replace it, and once the blanket has been used on a fire, replace it too. If either is damaged or you're unsure it's still fit for use, don't rely on it.
How do I store and maintain it?
Keep both items accessible and visible near where the vehicle or equipment is parked, charged or stored, the extinguisher on a bracket or shelf and the blanket in its bag. Give the extinguisher a monthly visual check (gauge in the green zone, pin and seal intact, no damage), inspect it annually, and inspect the blanket for damage. Both suit garage and workshop storage and normal temperature variation; avoid prolonged moisture or chemical contact.
What about warranty and shipping?
Both items carry a 12-month warranty. Because of the size and weight, shipping is calculated at checkout based on your location, and shipping is free Australia wide on orders over $500. As safety equipment, returns are subject to our standard return policy, contact us with any questions.
